22nd May 2022

Project: Single
Genre: Contemporary classical, Choral
Services: Recording, Composition, Vocal arrangement, Conductor

Sarah Brightman, Alfie Boe, NHS Voices of Care Choir & The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra

I brought together the NHS Voices of Care choir again from all over the United Kingdom to perform alongside Sarah Brightman and Alfie Boe on this unique record released by Warner Classics on Friday 27th May 2022.

It’s a beautiful and sensitive rendition of the national anthem in honour of the Queen’s platinum jubilee.  The double A-side also features a remastered recording of the national anthem sung at Her Majesty’s 1953 coronation service in Westminster Abbey.

About the NHS Voices of Care Choir

The NHS Voices of Care Choir consists of Health Service employees and was originally brought together online during the pandemic by music producer James Hawkins to perform with Michael Ball and Captain Sir Tom Moore on their version of ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’, which topped the charts in 2020. Some of these lovely singers then came with James to Blackpool to rehearse and perform in person at The Royal Variety Show in December 2020.

It was absolutely wonderful for a much bigger group of singers to meet and spend the day recording together. Thank you to all these NHS employees who travelled and gave up their time to sing on this amazing record in early May. You are an awesome group of people with so much heart, and we are very grateful to you.
