“How do you say “I Love You” when you are unable to speak?”

I worked with the charity, Soundabout, which helps non-verbal children express themselves using music, to devise an awareness campaign to highlight their work. We brought together four leading composers: Dame Evelyn Glennie, John Rutter CBE, Will Todd and Debbie Wiseman OBE, and charged them with the task that Soundabout clients face on a daily basis: how to communicate without words. Each was challenged to choose three pitches to say “I love you”. Then I combined the three-pitch musical messages into a brand new composition, “Jessica’s Lullaby”, featuring Soundabout’s patron Derek Paravicini on piano.

Watch the video to find out about Jessica and how our composers answered the challenge…

Notes that say, “I love you”. It’s not as simple as you think…

The Impact of Jessica’s Lullaby

Soundabout experienced dramatically increased brand engagement on social media, and achieved national radio coverage on Classic FM at campaign launch. In the first three days the video has been watched over 10,000 times and has received a phenomenal response, most impressively around engagement.
